Pulse Health's teams were juggling scheduling, tasks, and patient updates across disconnected tools, which created noise and missed handoffs. I designed Korda as a single, calmer workspace that brings these workflows together and surfaces what each role needs to do next. The result is a clinical operations platform that lowers cognitive load and keeps staff focused on care.

I shadowed care coordinators for several weeks to understand how schedule changes, patient notes, and task ownership moved between the disconnected tools they relied on each shift. Every handoff introduced a small risk of something being missed, and those small risks compounded quickly across a busy floor.
I mapped each of those moments into a service blueprint that separated urgent, time-sensitive work from the background administration that could safely wait. The blueprint made it obvious where the interface needed to interrupt someone and where it should stay quiet and out of the way.
Aligning the team
Before designing a single screen, I walked clinical leads, schedulers, and on-call staff through the blueprint so we could agree on what “urgent” actually meant for each role. Those conversations surfaced conflicting assumptions that would otherwise have shown up as expensive rework later.
We settled on a shared vocabulary for tasks, statuses, and ownership that the entire product could be built around. That common language became the backbone for the queues, notifications, and escalation rules that followed.


Dashboard redesign
The dashboard was rebuilt around role-based queues, so each card now shows the next useful action a person can take instead of a static summary they have to interpret. The goal was to make the first few seconds of a shift feel oriented rather than overwhelming.
I introduced a calmer visual density, clearer empty states, and a faster patient lookup that kept the most common searches within reach. Together these changes helped clinical teams move through high-volume days with far less cognitive switching.
Measuring the impact
We instrumented the redesign so we could watch how long it took staff to find and act on priority items compared with the old tool. Early sessions showed people reaching decisions with fewer detours and noticeably less hesitation.
Just as importantly, the team reported that the workspace felt trustworthy, which encouraged them to rely on the shared queues instead of keeping private side-lists. That shift in behavior was the clearest sign the new structure was working.
